Taking Attendance (Live-Online)
Both Administrators and Tutors can take attendance in Saga Connect. To get started, navigate to the Dashboard and then to Attendance.
Note: you must have the following set up for students to appear:
- Programs with bell and tutoring schedules
- Tutors and students assigned to the tutoring schedule
- Default pods
From here, you can navigate to different dates and tutoring periods using the drop down date picker and the period selector drop down.
Current Tutoring Periods
During a tutorial period, you can actively take attendance and view the real-time status of students logged in to their live-online Connect session. The following features are available:
For students in a live-online Connect session:
- View the counter next to the computer icon to see how long the student has been logged in to their tutorial. This time in MM:SS reflects Time in Tutorial.
- Use the attendance slider to manually update the attendance from 0-100%.
- Check the Tardy box to add that designation for a student who is <5 minutes late.
- Check the Excused button to indicate an excused absence or tardy.
If your program tracks Math Exploration Time outside of scheduled tutorials, attendance can be taken manually for students in the No Scheduled Tutorials section:
- All of the same features as above, except no Time in Tutorial counter
There is a Bulk Actions button that can be used to apply changes to multiple students at once.
Clicking on View Details for students in Saga Connect tutorials, will expand to show a timeline and a place to add a note.
