Session Navigation

Navigating the session space is key to running a smooth and effective lesson. When you first join a session as a tutor, you’ll land in the Campfire mode.

To access the workspaces:

Hover your mouse over your Video bubble.
Click the Workspaces icon (the left-most icon that appears).

When you're in the All Workspaces View, you can see all student work spaces at once. Your Video will also be in the center at the top of the screen. Several tools are available on this page to help manage the session:

On the left side, use the slide selector to navigate between pages.
- Use the lock icon to control slide navigation. When locked, students are kept on the slide you’ve selected. Unlock it to let them explore slides on their own.
In the top-right corner, the Timer tool is available—students can see it in their individual work spaces.
In the top-right corner, a drop-down menu in the same corner offers additional tools for managing the session.

To focus on a specific student’s workspace:

Hover over their video tile.
Click the “Zoom into” button.

Individual workspaces

Student Workspace

When you’re zoomed into a student’s workspace, the student’s video appears in the lower-left corner to indicate whose space you’re viewing. Your video, and other student video, will be on the right hand side under the timer and menu.

Toolbars are only visible when you're in an individual workspace. They appear along the right side of the screen. To leave a student workspace click the double arrows in the lower Toolbar, or, hover your mouse over the student Video and click the double arrows.

Tutor Workspace

Tutors also have access to their own tutor workspace, which can be used to preview materials, set up problems, or work through solutions privately.

To access your tutor workspace:

Hover your mouse over your own video bubble.
Click the double arrow icon (just like you would when zooming into a student’s workspace).

This can be a helpful spot to prepare without disrupting students' work.

Navigating between Campfire mode, the workspace overview, and individual student workspaces is essential for effectively managing your session and engaging with students.

Each view plays a different role in supporting learning:

Campfire mode is great for connecting and interacting before diving into the material.
The All Workspaces View allows you to monitor all students at once, track progress, and identify who might need help.
Individual student workspaces let you zoom in for personalized support, provide feedback, or model a problem directly in their space.

Smoothly moving between these views helps you stay responsive, keep students on task, and make the most of your instructional time.
