Tutor Training Resources

Saga includes training materials and personalized insights for tutors to assist them with their professional development on the Training Tab. Depending on your access, you may see two sub-tabs.

The Tutor Feedback tab provides information on Talk Patterns and Tutor tips. Talk Patterns describe how tutors and students engage verbally with each other in a tutorial and currently includes:

  • Talk Patterns - A ratio of sentences a tutor speaks to the sentences students speak
  • Time to Think - A percentage of sentences from a tutor with three or more seconds of wait time before someone else speaks
  • More than One word - A percentage of student statements that are two or more words

Tutor Tips are a mix of general and custom insights that cover a variety of Quality Tutoring Framework (QTF) topics. Tutor Tips shown are generated based on the Time Frame and the selected QTF topic.

Use the Time Frame and QTF Topic drop-down menus on the right-hand side to hone the Talk Patterns and Tutor Tips.

The Saga Coach tab provides access to training materials. Access the material by clicking the blue Launch Saga Coach button. If you have already started training materials, you will find a short recap of your progress so far.
